Focus Thorsten Schneider fills demanding specialist and leadership positions in defence, space, critical infrastructure and dual use – from subject-matter experts to managing directors and board members. He also advises and supports clients with management audits.

Background Trained as an officer in the German Air Force; left after eight years amid the downsizing of the Bundeswehr – a reflection of the geopolitical realignment in Europe and beyond at the time, an assessment that history has since thoroughly corrected. Degree in educational science, followed by senior people-development and HR roles in family-owned businesses, corporate groups and the public sector. Active in executive search for the security and defence industry since 2011, initially with international consultancies, today as founder and Managing Partner of FOCUS-DEFENCE.

Personal Born in the Wittgenstein hills and living there again for several years now, with a blended family of four children. Dog owner and fan of vintage off-road trucks. Energetic and execution-driven – and ready to go the extra mile for his clients’ success.

Focus Agnese Šneidere keeps FOCUS-DEFENCE organised: she plans, coordinates and calmly but firmly gets things back on track when they go off course. With five languages – Latvian, Russian, German and English at negotiation level, plus good Spanish – and her connections to the Baltics and our Eastern European neighbours, she extends our reach well beyond the German-speaking world.

Background Degree in German studies, followed by five years in Ireland, four of them in a management role at a company in Dublin. She then spent five and a half years as Senior Officer in the State Protocol of the Latvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs – a school for tact, precise planning and composure when things become unplanned. With FOCUS-DEFENCE since April 2025.
